The many uses of haptic technology: from psychophysics to applications
Physical interaction is an essential dimension of our experience, that
is less studied than visual experience and which is also lacking in most virtual
reality systems. Force feedback devices provide ways to control the interaction
and study motor and perceptual processes experimentally. This seminar will
illustrate the potential of this technology with examples of research on
haptic perception and possible applications.
