The research group is devoted to the study of the neuropsychological underpinning of body representation, by seeking for mechanisms that allow the sense of body ownership and agency, the conscious and unconscious processing of external and interoceptive signals, the cognitive mechanisms of pain processing, the integration of bodily sensations with multisensory information coming from the space around us and their plastic modulation through experience, and the relationship between the brain and the body for homoeostatic control.
