In our era marked by polycrisis, global challenges, and growing geopolitical competitiveness, research can offer concrete answers, interpreting the most widespread social needs with a view to a sustainable future. The conference will present a personal perspective on the research and innovation activities of the CNR, the National Research Council of Italy, in the context of global challenges and opportunities. The CNR celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2023 and is currently promoting the internationalization and enhancement of research through a Relaunch Plan based on a scientific reform and a new system of support for interdisciplinary projects. Some of the keywords representing research performed at CNR include cultural heritage, life sciences, green transition, digital transition, clean energy, sustainability, biodiversity, circular economy, Peace and Science Diplomacy, and One Health. The CNR is also the coordinator of the National Biodiversity Future Center, which aims to monitor, conserve, restore, and valorize Italian and Mediterranean biodiversity, and is the main founder of the FAIR Foundation, which supports fundamental research in AI. Moreover, the CNR is investing in robotics, exploring the potential and challenges of the integration of robotics and AI, especially in the fields of manufacturing, logistics, healthcare, and environmental monitoring.

Interverrà la Prof.ssa Maria Chiara Carrozza, Presidente del Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche (CNR).

Tutti gli interessati sono invitati a partecipare.
